“We, the Teacher’s Dignity Coalition (TDC) and Samahan ng Progresibong Kabataan (SPARK), assert that haphazardly discontinuing the Senior High School program in State and Local Universities and Colleges, without guaranteeing improved access and quality of our education system, will lead to economic displacement for o ur teachers and threaten our learners’ right to accessible and quality education,” ayon sa dalawang grupo.

“While we understand that SUCs and LUCs are mandated to offer the SHS program only during the K-12 transition period, we fear that mechanically following suit without serious consideration of the drawbacks on education stakeholders will lead to another learning crisis leaving 17,700 students affected by dislocation and hundreds of thousands more by imminent congestion.”

“Any less than this would mean failure to protect and fulfill the right of all citizens to quality education at all levels, and making such education accessible to all,” dagdag ng dalawang grupo.

“Yes, we can handle it. We’ve talked to the regional offices and schools division offices where we have enrollees in local universities,” ani DEpEd Assistant Secretary Francis Bringas.

“Out of the 17,700, an average of 250 learners per division will have to be accommodated by division offi ces.”

MANILA, Philippines — Netflix released a new promotional video for Korean series “Gyeongseong Creature,” featuring the special participation of Maja Salvador.

The video sees the show’s actors, Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee, entering a room labeled “Philippine Creature.”

Seo-joon discovers vials with Philippine locations written on them such as Taguig, Quezon and Pampanga, and he picks up one that reads “Manila.”

Numerous drawings of fantastical creatures are seen on the wall, and the two leads focus on a figure whose head eerily appears like Maja’s character, Ivy Aguas, from the hit show “Wildflower.”

So-hee and Seo-joon compare the image with drawings of Maja’s face, and the video cuts to Maja herself imprisoned behind bars.

The two actors are startled by a sound, and a cell behind them had been broken out of, supposedly containing Maja.

“Sandale! Malapit na ang Part 2,” read the text on the video, another reference to a line said by Maja’s Ivy character.

The first seven episodes of “Gyeongseong Creature” dropped last December 22 and the remaining three will premiere on January 5.

Prior to its release, the second season of “Gyeongseong Creature” was already confirmed. — Video from Netflix Philippines’ YouTube channel

“[It] is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Manila be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration,” ayon sa proklamasyong nilagdaan ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

“NOW, THEREFORE, I, LUCAS P. BERSAMIN, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR., do hereby declare Tuesday, 09 January 2023, a special (non-working) day in the City of Manila.”
