Pinoy na alaws trabaho sumirit sa 2-M sa paglobo ng inflation rate

MANILA, Philippines — Fans of K-pop girl group Twice can get a chance to meet the group when they join a digital promo.

Twice partnered with popular snack brand Oishi to gi ve Filipino Onces the chance to get up close and personal with the all-girl group on June 1 in SM Mall of Asia Arena. 

The brand is offering Onces an exclusive Twice x Oishi Snacktacular Fan Bag, which includes an assortment of snacks, a special edition selca photocard, and a card sleeve or poster for only P300.

MANILA, Philippines — Lumobo sa 3.9% ang unemployment rate sa Pilipinas nitong Marso matapos ang panandaliang pagbaba noong Pebrero, ayon sa Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) ngayong Miyerkules.

Umabot na kasi sa dalawang milyon ang walang trabaho sa Pilipinas, ayon sa March 2024 Labor Force Survey na inilathala ng PSA ngayong Miyerkules.

Mas mataas ito kaysa sa unemployment rate noong Pebrero na noo’y nasa 3.5%, bagay na katumbas ng 1.8 milyong Pinoy.

Narito ang ilang datos mula sa pag-aaral:

Kasabay nito ang pagbaba ng employment rate mula sa 96.5% (o katumbas ng 48.95 milyon) noong Pebrero. Maliban pa ito sa pagtaas ng labor force participation mula sa dating 64.8%.

Kapansin-pansing bumaba ang underemployment rate, o porsyento ng mga naghahanap ng karagdagang trabaho, bagay na nasa 12.4% isang buwan bago inilabas ang datos.

Gayunpaman, tumaas ang oras na karaniwang ino-overtime ng mga empleyado sa 40.7 oras/linggo kumpara sa 40.1 average hours kada linggo noong February 2024.

“Sa mga employed na kalalakihan nitong Marso 2024, 12.4 percent sa kanila ay underemployed. Higit na mas mataas ito kumpara sa underemployment rate ng mga kababaihan na nasa 9.0 percent lamang,” sabi ng PSA sa isang tweet.”

“Kung ang datos ng pangunahing sektor naman ang ating susuriin nitong Marso 2024, ang services sector pa rin ang nanatiling bumubuo sa pinakamalaking bahagi ng labor force na may 61.4 percent share.”

Naiulat ang mas mataas na kawalang trabaho isang araw matapos ibalitang tumaas sa 3.8% ang inflation rate — o bilis ng pagtaas ng presyo ng bilihin — noong Abril.

Ngayong araw lang nang magkasa ng kilos-protesta ang Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino (BMP), Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU), Nagkaisa! Labor Coalition (NAGKAISA!), at Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) sa Kamara para ipanawagan ang P150 pagtataas ng minimum na sahod.
