NTF-ELCAC ipinabubuwag matapos kilalanin ng SC negatibong epekto ng red-tagging

MANILA, Philippines – The qualifiers for this year’s edition of the All Out Games (AOG) have commenced.

The qualifier workouts, which is the initial phase of the competition season, will run until May 17.

“During this qualifying phase, athletes compete to achieve the best possible performance scores. Based on their performances, only a select number of athletes will advance to the final stages of the competition,” the AOG said in a statement.

“The event is designed to be beginner-friendly, encouraging newcomers to participate in a functional fitness competition,” it added.

The qualifier workout is composed of three parts of exercises to be performed in 20 minutes.

The competition proper will be held on September 21 to 22 of this year. Like last year, it will be held at the Filinvest Tent. Invitations will be released on June 15th.

For the AOG, ther e will be two categories — individual and teams of three.

The individual category will have several divisions — chill out, s weat out, master’s sweat out, master’s all out and all out. For the teams of three, there will be three divisions — chill out, sweat out and all out.

The games will be held in partnership with the Hidilyn D iaz Weightlifting Academy.

Last year’s competition was a success with a total of 428 individuals taking part.

“We strongly demand justice for all victims of redtagging and all human rights and international humanitarian violations,” wika ng human rights group na Karapaatan kahapon.

“We denounce and call for the abolition of the NTF-ELCAC, as the most notorious red-tagging machinery of the Marcos-Duterte administration.”

“The NTF-ELCAC and its functionaries have also repeatedly blocked all efforts to push for the enactment of proposed legislation criminalizing redtagging and protecting human rights defenders,” sabi pa ng grupo.

“Marcos Jr.’s own National Security Policy, implemented by the NTF-ELCAC, contains language institutionalizing redtagging as policy of the current regime.”

“KARAPATAN views the recently published Supreme Court En Banc decision partially granting the writ of amparo of activist Siegfred Deduro as an important legal decision recognizing the dangerous consequences of red-tagging, vilification, and labelling.”

“This also strengthens our clamor to repeal repressive laws that further shrink democratic space, such as the Anti-Terror Law,” ani Ferdinand Hicap, national chairperson ng PAMALAKAYA.

“Our fisherfolk members and community organizers have been constant targets of red-tagging with corresponding state surveillance, trumped-up charges, and extra-judicial killings.”
