Available in universal shapes and nominal sizes, they are versatile for various applications. Their flexible and demountable design enhances convenience for both installation and maintenance.

MANILA, Philippines — An ammonia leak hit an ice plant in Pasay City yesterday, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

The BFP said it received a report of an ammonia leak at the Summit Ice facility along F.B. Harrison street in Barangay 3 at past 10 a.m.

Upon arriving at the scene, fire responders isolated the area and immediately closed the valve to stop the leak.

The BFP declared the situation under control at around 12 noon.

Four fire volunteers were reported to have suffered difficulty in breathing after inhaling hazardous chemicals. They were declared out of danger, according to a radio report.

A portion of FB Harrison street was closed for safety precautions. It has been reopened to motorists.

MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos tested negative for cocaine in November 2021, according to drug examiners of St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC) Global City in Taguig.

During the continuation of the hearing of the Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs yesterday, Geresza Reyes, who signed the drug test report, said Marcos tested negative for cocaine use.

“As for the analysis, there is a line that came out. In our drug test kit, there is the control line and the line for the drug analyte. In the result, there was actually a line showing it was negative,” Reyes told the Senate panel chaired by Sen. Ronald dela Rosa.

SLMC Global City drug testing laboratory head Dr. Cecilia Lim, who also signed the report, said the test kit could provide results after two minutes and 54 seconds.

“That’s what the drug testing kit can do. The results came out quickly. The maximum time we allow for the line to come out is five minutes. When the line comes out and won’t go away, you’re negative,” Lim said.

She said the drug kit was like a pregnancy test kit.

Marcos, who was then a presidential candidate, took a cocaine test and submitted the negative result to law enforcement agencies.

He decided to take the drug test after then president Rodrigo Duterte said that a presidential candidate was using cocaine.

Lim clarified that Marcos only asked to be tested for cocaine and not for other types of prohibited drugs.

The resumption of the Senate hearing was part of the leaked documents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, which linked Marcos and actress Maricel Soriano to drugs.

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police is looking into an attempted data breach in the logistics information system of the PNP.

Reports of a data breach in the logistics system surfaced at around 10 a.m. yesterday, according to PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo.

“As an immediate response, the PNP’s information technology officer shut down the system to prevent further potential leaks. Initial assessments, however, did not show evidence of breach,” Fajardo told a press briefing at Camp Crame.

She said the PNP’s cyber response team is conducting a thorough investigation into the alleged breach.

When asked about the specifics of the breach and whether any data had been compromised, Fajardo said the probe is ongoing and “no conclusive findings have been made thus far.”

“We are coordinating with the police Anti-Cybercrime Group for a comprehensive investigation,” Fajardo said.

She noted that the logistics data information system encompasses the logistical resources of the PNP.

“We are taking the necessary steps to ensure the security and integrity of this system,” Fajardo said.
