MANILA, Philippines \u2014 The Department of Justice (DOJ) said it had given prosecutors a \u201cbroader\u201d role in case build-up to encompass a broader spectrum of criminal investigations.<\/p>\n
In a press release on Wednesday, the Justice department said that it directed the National Prosecution Service to oversee an additional three penal laws for case build-up, adding to the scope of laws in Department Circular (DC) 20.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis move is expected to maximize the functions of the NPS which will ensure the existence of a prima facie case and a reasonable certainty of conviction based on available documents, witnesses, real evidence and the like so that efforts in the pursuit of justice will not go to waste,\u201d DOJ\u2019s press release read.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The following penal laws are added to the scope of D.C. 20:<\/p>\n
Prosecutors must confirm that there is a sufficient prima facie cas e and a strong likelihood of conviction before initiating a preliminary investigation based on a complaint.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In cases where evidence is insufficient, prosecutors are obligated to notify law enforcement of the deficiency and instruct them to provide the necessary evidence, according to the DOJ.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
The DOJ said that D.C. 20 covers the following laws:<\/p>\n

In his interview with Preview as the May 2024 cover,\u00a0Alden said his\u00a0friendship with actress Kathryn Bernardo\u00a0did not end after shooting their 2019 blockbuster movie “Hello, Love, Goodbye.”<\/p>\n
“The friendship never ended. Naging solid din talaga ‘yung samahan naming lahat,” he said, admitting that he was just “overwhelmed.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Apart from keeping some things private, Alden also kept\u00a0mum on the re ported sequel of “Hello, Love, Goodbye.”<\/p>\n
Last week, Alden told Philstar.com that he is hoping that his reunion movie with Kathryn will pus h through.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Siyempre ako naman kung talagang matutuloy ‘yun, gusto ko rin naman siyang matuloy,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Wishful thinking, but right now kasi, hindi pa rin naman kami nasasabihan if it’s gonna happen, but kung matuloy man, maraming nag-aabang. Isa rin ako doon. So sana matuloy,” he added.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Alden attended Kathryn’s house blessing and separate birthday party held in a remote beach. He also surprised Kathryn during the actress’ post-birthday celebration with a bouquet of flowers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
When asked what is the real score between them, Alden said, “What you see is what you get.”<\/p>\n
“Hindi lang din talaga kailangan lagi ipamalita sa social media ‘yung mga ganiyan. You know, sometimes ‘yung mga personal things that’s happening, better be personal na lang,” he added.<\/p>\n
