“The group KAPATID issued a statement outlining three different complaints about strip searches among [persons deprived of liverty] visitors,” wika ng CHR ngayong Miyerkules.

“The description of ‘humiliating, degrading, and traumatic’ brought by these strip searches experienced by victims was emphasized.”

“CHR affirms that the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology’s (BJMP) search guidelines should not be applied arbitrarily and that searches should not be directed at the families of political prisoners,” dagdag pa ng CHR.

“With these continuing acts of concerned security officers, we reiterate Rules 51 and 52(1) of the United Nations Standard Minimum Ru les for the Treatment of Prisoners, or the Mandela Rules, which state that security searches ‘shall not be used to harass, intimidate, or unnecessarily intrude upon a prisoner’s privacy’ and that ‘intrusive searches shall be conducted in private and by trained staff of the same sex as the prisoner.'”

“While we recognise the importance of maximum security inspection to ensure the safety and security of correctional facilities, it is vital that these security measures do not jeopardise visitors’ fundamental human rights. Inspections must be conducted in a way that respects the dignity, privacy, and rights of all individuals involved.”

“Our Department remains fully committed to upholding the highest degree of respect for human rights in the conduct of our Corrections functions and guarantee that our agency will continue to innovate ways on how to improve our services to our PDLs and their loved ones,” sabi pa ng kalihim.

“We do not condone degrading or inhuman or absurd treatment towards anyone because we want our prisons to be safe, secure and decent.”

MANILA, Philippines — On- and off-screen partners Ronnie Alonte and Loisa Andalio revealed their secrets to a long-lasting relationship.

During the press conference of their new endorsement Iceburg Insulated, Philstar.com asked the couple their secret despite the spate of celebrity breakups in the industry.

Walang perfect na relasyon,” he added.

Loisa, meanwhile, agreed with her boyfriend’s statement.

“Kami ngayon puro plano.

Philstar.com also asked Ronnie and Loisa if they are already talking about marriage.

“May future naman talaga (referring to marriage).

“May peace of mind talaga ako sa kanya.

Hydration enthusiasts witnessed a surge of excitement as Iceberg Insulated Flasks officially launched its brand last Saturday at the newly-unveiled Happy Go Shopping Mall.

The brand offers a techology that allows users to affix their phones to the tumbler, allowing integration of hydration with technology and enabling users to capture their moments with ease.

The launch doubled as a fundraising initiative, with proceeds from ticket sales earmarked to benefit a local church — an endeavor close to the hearts of both Ronnie and Loisa

“We’re thrilled to be part of the Iceberg family and to support such a worthy cause,” shared Loisa. “For us, it’s not just about endorsing a product; it’s about using our platform to make a positive impact in the community.”

Ronnie agreed, adding that the brand’s value aligns with theirs.

The brand’s Managing Partner Bryan See affirmed, “Our goal is to officially launch the brand and highlight how the brand is an advocate for creating a positive impact on the community.”
